Rendered in DAZ Studio 4.6 Pro

This little animation is of :iconraikoh-illust:'s original character, Nova Akosah, and is directly inspired by his art:The crystals by Raikoh-illust

This was an excellent opportunity to practice animating various objects around one another and in time with each other. As always, I see things in the end that I could have done better, but that is how I learn. I hope you like "Nova's Crystals."

So! I haven't posted an animation in a while. I need to share this one with you if anything for my own sanity. You wouldn't believe how long it took my computer to bake each frame of this animation after putting in all of the light density volume settings. I definitely learned a lesson there. The Video to SWF conversion continues to be a royal pain. I'm not sure why there's a weird buzzing noise. There isn't supposed to be any sound at all. I'm considering starting up my old YouTube channel to post animations there. I definitely want to continue practicing this.

I like the lighting. It's not much but it does show a lot of potential. It's a great animation. I'm just curious what else you could do.

I have some pretty cool ideas if I do say so myself for animations, but I want more practice before I attempt and sort of story telling or more involved animation. The challenge I gave myself here was to animate the crystals to move indepently and in unison at the same time and also to create an animation with volumetric lighting. On to my next practice animation :)

I told you that you would see more of her ;)
You are most welcome! Your art has been inspiring me since before I started my 3D art. Nova is one of if not the most unique original character I have ever come across. She is a joy to work with and I am sure you'll be seeing more of her in my gallery (with your consent of course). B-)

It's actually a regular spotlight. I used a Volume Camera from a camera pack on daz3d.com. I learned with this animation that they are best used for still renders. Unless there's something I am missing, the volume camera really bogs down the rendering process. If there is light that has this effect and renders easier I would love to get it.
Thanks for the comment. :)

Ahh! Well to achieve this sort of effect in poser, is with lights. Volumetric lights. Yeah the rendering process really slows down in poser too.

Good to know it isn't just me then :). I can lower the quality to speed it up but the shadows look like the static on a TV. I guess I'll just have to sell my soul and buy a super computer :evillaugh:
