Rendered in DAZ Studio 4.6 Pro     Postwork in GIMP 2.8

February's installment of my 2014 Star Wars swimsuit calendar. Barriss Offee is enjoying the soft and warm sunlight of Naboo... that is, up until Ahsoka decides to give into her mischievous tendencies and splashes water on the sunbathing mirialan.

February's dates of interest resonate in both very high and low points for fans of the Clone Wars series. Let's hope those Season 6 bonus episodes are positive points for us. I hope you like the calendar!

Here we have a beautiful soft and warm atmosphere. Personally, I find this very well made for a February sum picture. It's nice and reassuring with such joy. Ahsoka and Barriss already are already very nice, but now she has lovely bathing beach.

Ahsoka shows are always playful side, just the opposite is Barriss surprise the little joke of his girlfriend ... but it is a safe bet that it will not stop there.

The brightness also provides a good calm and reassuring atmosphere. In short, everything you need to sunbathe and enjoy the warmth of the moment!

I like this picture!

Oh yeah! At least I didn't miss out on this new image for a month like I did your last one.
I am so glad that you haven't gone down the road of exaggerating their attributes like so many other artists.
You come as close as I've seen to a more realistic version of these characters, rather than the tv-cartoony version that I'm pursuing in my 3d art.
Perhaps in days to come, once I finish modeling my harem of characters - I might try something similar.

Coming from you, that is an extreme compliment! Thank you so much! Getting to that point of realism without loosing their aesthetic and general appearance is my goal. Modeling Ahsoka's headpiece was surprisingly easy albeit time-consuming, but the texture isn't acting appropriately. I keep having to fix it in postwork. For some reason, some of the polygons cast wierd, isolated shadows where they shouldn't. It seems with every new thing I learn there are a dozen new problems to plague my existence. I digress. I'm gald you like the calendar. Thank you for the uplifting compliments. :)

You haven't described what modeling software you used to create Ahsoka's montrals/lekku, although we had discussed maya in the past. What you're describing about certain polygons casting odd isolated shadows might indicate reversed normals for those particular polygons. I know how to find and fix something like that in maya, but again I don't know what you're using. Hopefully that might help you with that mystery problem.

I'm using Wings3D. I'm trying to learn Hexagon but so far it isn't agreeing with me. I can reverse normals once in DAZ, but the polygon still sticks out like a sore thumb. It isn't perfect, but it is better once fixed in DAZ. That being said, it only works for the frame. Additional problems arise with the texture's behavior whenever I try animation.

I've never heard of that software - either of them. If it isn't merely a problem with face normals, then perhaps it is a problem called 'lamina faces', which essentially describes a condition where more than one polygon face occupies the same space in the model. This can result in oddity in texture maps and a maybe a flickering appearance when the model is in motion. Lamina faces can be difficult to deal with, I used to have trouble with them when I first started modeling. If you want me to check it out for you, I could examine it with my software. From what you've described, I would only need the montrals/lekku object. Since I don't use any of those programs, if you can export it as an obj file and include the texture (jpg) - I could probably fix it for you. Up to you.

I looked up lamina faces for Wings3d and it is a known issue. I'm going to see what I can do, but even if I can't fix it, I'm getting fairly unhappy with my mesh anyways and I want to start over. After rendering with my headpiece a few times I've learned about a few things that I can certainly do better. I really appreciate your offer though! When I finish my new version I will send it your way if I am unable to fix the problem on my end. Thank you very much for the advice and help.

Thank you. I wanted to do something comforting. The sun is finally starting to come back up here but it is still quite frigid.

This is great! A playfully Ahsoka and a relaxed Barriss who got irrupted by her friend. I like Ahsoka's bikini and Barriss' swimsuit, it really fitting them. :)

You did a great job, can't wait till the next month. :D

I like this, it captures the playfulness of Ahsoka, and it still shows the laid back demeanor of Barriss. The sunglasses on Barriss is a nice touch, as well.

outstanding work, my friend, keep it going. Ohyeah...FIRST comment

This render was tricky, but it was also a lot of fun. As soon as I gave Barriss sunglasses I knew exactly what kind of scene was going to play out.

Congratulations on first comment! I'm so happy for you! Enjoy your first place prize! ... whatever that is
